Head-to-Head Arcade Racing
Cath0d Retro Racing is a retro-style arcade racer designed around direct competition between two players. Both share one screen, each controlling a separate vehicle with their own set of keys. The objective is simple: stay ahead of your opponent until the timer expires. Speed is maintained by successfully dodging obstacles that appear on the track, so the race becomes a test of steady reflexes rather than raw acceleration.
Jump, Dodge, and Grapple
Each player has two actions beyond steering: jump and grapple. Jumping clears obstacles without losing momentum, while the grapple lets a trailing player quickly close the gap to the leader. That single tool creates the game's main strategic decision. A player who falls behind can recover with a well-timed grapple, but using it at the wrong moment leaves them vulnerable. The race continues until time runs out, and whoever is ahead at that moment wins.
Retro Look and Quick Matches
Pixel-art visuals give Cath0d Retro Racing a classic arcade atmosphere. Matches are short by design, which makes the game suitable for quick sessions or casual family play. Controls are straightforward, so beginners can pick up the basics quickly, while the grapple timing and obstacle dodging offer enough depth for experienced players to refine. The game can be paused at any time using the designated key.
